    Head of Department:
     Vladyslav Havdzynskyi - Ph.D., Professor

The Department of Higher Mathematics is one of the first departments created in 1930. The famous scientist M.G. Krein. made a great contribution to the development of the department. Mark Krein created the Odessa School of Functional Analysis.

His students were employees of the department of P.D. Kalafati, Y.S. Iokhvidov, Yu.L. Shmulian, M.L. Brodskyi, P.A. Shvartsman, I.E. Ovcharenko, A.A. Nudelman , G.Ya. Popov - a graduate of the building institute, Dr. P.D. Kalafati, Y.S. Iokhvidov, I.E. Ovcharenko and G.Ya. Popov was the head of the department of higher mathematics in different periods of its existence.

In March 1978, the head of the department of higher mathematics was Ph.D., Associate Professor Vladyslav Havdzynskyi participant in an international seminar at the University of Texas (USA), performer of the joint scientific work "Boundary value problems of the theory of analytical functions" (Kuwait).

With his arrival, educational work has changed. The Department organized and conducted mathematical evenings for students, CVC, chess tournaments, mathematical Olympiads, conducting students to the ranks of the Armed Forces, correspondence with employees, with students' parents. The motto of the head of the department "All for the benefit of the student" - became the motto of the department.

Since 1995 prof. Yu.Y. Cherskyi is a well-known mathematician, Dr. M.Sc., Member of ONU Dissertation Defense Council, Member of international conferences and symposia in Regensburg, Berlin, Chemnitz.

At the suggestion of the head of the department Ph.D., Associate Professor Vladyslav Havdzynskyi. In 1991, the teaching staff of the Industrial and Civil Construction (and then the Heat and gas supply and ventilation) established teaching groups in English.

The department is doing a lot of methodical work. The methodical publications include works in three languages, Ukrainian, Russian and English, to help foreign students improve their English.
