Preparatory department for foreign citizens
Preparatory Department for Foreign Citizens of the Center for Training Specialists of the Odessa State Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture was created by order №11 from 10.02.1993.
Preparatory department for foreign citizens - provides training for foreign citizens and stateless persons for training in all specialties of OSACEA and in other educational institutions in Ukraine.
Specialists of the preparatory department for foreign citizens develop and implement the latest methods and technologies of teaching Ukrainian, Russian and English as foreign languages, as well as propaedeutic courses in specialized disciplines in various fields.
The guarantee of high-quality training of foreign citizens is the high qualification of teachers, their experience in working with foreign students, as well as the development and use of modern teaching methods. Foreign citizens at the preparatory department for foreign citizens are provided with the best audiences, specialized classrooms, laboratories, computer classes, educational and methodical literature.
Foreign citizens are trained in three languages:

in Ukrainian;

in Russian;

in English.
Studying Ukrainian, Russian or English as a foreign language takes place during the whole curriculum of the preparatory department for foreign citizens.
Regardless of the chosen field of study, the number of hours allotted for learning a foreign language is 720 classroom hours, which ensures an adequate level of proficiency in the language.
According to the curricula of the preparatory department for foreign citizens, training takes place over two semesters, at the end of each of which there is a test and examination session. During the first 10 weeks of study, a foreign language is taught with a maximum load of 30 hours per week; it allows you to master the required level of language skills to study general disciplines, with the introduction of which the number of hours of a foreign language gradually decreases.
Foreign citizens are trained in the following specializations:

According to the curriculum of the preparatory department for foreign citizens, starting from the 11th week of study, in accordance with the chosen specialization, there is a gradual introduction of such general disciplines as: mathematics, physics, biology, chemistry, drawing, computer science basics, drawing, regional studies, Ukrainian language foreign.
The term of study at the preparatory department for foreign citizens is 10 months. In accordance with the schedule of the educational process, enrollment of foreign citizens in the training takes place from August 20.
Foreign students who have successfully passed all exams and tests receive a certificate of completion of the preparatory department for foreign citizens.
